Tympor
Drums from the Forest
The Painted Drummers are one of the more common types of Elkrin in Eldemore. They come in a variety of colors and are found in varying locations across the land. They are known for the habit of 'drumming' at the ground with their hooves to warn others of impending danger. These Elkrin are one of the easiest to train and are frequently found in the company of people. As the name suggests, their coats look as though they were painted. This particular Elkrin is found in the forests bordering the plains. The noise can be heard at a great distance from this location due to echoing. Follow the drums, they will lead you to to him.

Silence filled the wood painted forest, nothing was left, even the rune dragons that played in the branches had moved on, but how did they know. Damien had heard the thunderous sound, it sounded like a heartbeat that shook the trees, a sound he has been following for years. A sound that brought joy and tears to his face.
When Damien was six his father brought him indo the forest, his eyes where wide with excitement as he sat down and held his finger in front of his mouth showing Damien to keep quiet, his father had something to show him. Damien was small and didn’t know what to expect but when the sound started ringing through the trees he knew that that was what his father was waiting for, it was an amazing sound, power, joy, soul, everything, pushed together and sent through the ground, leaving a young Damien smiling from ear to ear.
Since then Damien spent hours in the forest every day, waiting for the sound and searching for its creator. Now he was back again and closer than ever, to finding the magnificent creatures of legend. The small cavern carved into the canopy of trees started to vibrate, for the first time ever Damien didn’t only hear the sound but felt it as well. His heart pounded in his chest as he turned to face the small gap that let him enter just a few minutes earlier but now it was glowing with a sunset pink hue, and two intense eyes looking directly at him.
Finally the creature stepped through and let Damien see its true majesty but unlike Damien expected seemed just as curious about Damien than he was of him. It was beautiful, it had two striped horns adding to the pride that seemed to follow the creature, markings that looked almost painted on, to match the artistic genius he had hoped for and a playfulness brisling off of his dense fur. The creature tilted its head slightly as Damien watched it and then stomped his hooves on the ground lightly, proving that this was what he was looking for. In awe Damien got to his feet and softly stomped them as well.
It was an Elkrin, an actual painted drummer Elkrin and Damien was playing with him, making music only the creature before him understood. Damien didn’t know how long it lasted but at some point he stopped and walked to the Elkren stopping a few steps away and stuck out his hand, inviting his new friend to come closer and prove that Damien could be trusted.
An unspoken agreement passed between them as their eyes met again and the stag stepped forward pushing his muzzle into Damiens hand and tieng a knot, a bond of friendship and partnership, neither of them could explain. “Tympor” Damien said looking at the stag smiling softly, “Your name is Tympor and you are my brother” he added and then set off on a new adventure he had yet to understand.

Elkrin of Eldemore
Species belong to Benathorn and Jendalie
Welcome to Eldemore! In this land we are best known for the Rune Dragons which inhabit this place. But, there are other mythical creatures that dwell in this world besides the Runes and Ancients. Though not as powerful as the Runes, Elkrins are a dragon-type deer which the residents of Eldemore made bonds with in the past. An Elkrin, just as the Runes, carry marks upon their bodies which hold a bit of magic. Humans are able to tap into this magic by becoming filters for the creatures they bond with, thus making them special creatures in their own rights...but I am getting ahead of myself. Eldemore is filled with magic and mystery and for now we shall focus on the fabled Elkrins that only a few are allowed to ride upon. In the legends of old they speak of individuals who were able to connect with these ancient deer. The males are strong and proud, their horns varying from Elkrin to Elkrin, but are the size of a horse. The females, which bare no horns, are delicate and graceful, but just as magical and regal as the males. They are often not seen because of their elusive nature and because there are not many left in our world unfortunately.
Your purpose, young Rune Bearer, is to search out these creatures and make a bond with them. It is clear they can no longer survive on their own without the aid of humans. Tap into their magic, find other Rune Bearers who have also claimed an Elkrin as their own, and try to bring back what was once lost to Eldemore. Magic is the life line to this land and to have these species disappear would be a great loss. Will you be one of the great Elkrin riders of old? It is now up to you to decide their fate and we shall await your decision with great anticipation...
